Death

My third story is about Death. When I was 17 years old, I read a quote: “If you live each day as if it were your last, someday you all most certainly be right.” This left a very big impression on my mind. Since then, for the past 33 years, I have looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself a question: “If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?” And whenever the answer has been “No” for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of fearing failure or taking risks. About a year ago, I found out that I had cancer. At 7:30 in the morning, I had a scan, and it clearly showed that there was a tumor in my pancreas. And to be honest, I did not even know what a pancreas was.
The doctor had almost certainly told me that I had a type of cancer that was incurable, and that I had only 3 to 6 months left to live. The doctor advised me to go home and get my affairs in order. In doctor’s language, this meant to prepare for death. Basically, to complete all the things you were planning to do in the next 10 years within the few remaining months, because your time is up. I spent the entire day with the diagnosis, and in the evening, I had a biopsy, They inserted an endoscope through my throat, into my stomach, and used a needle to extract some cells from the tumor. At that time, I was completely unconscious. But when the doctor my cells under the microscope, everyone present, including my wife, started crying because the doctor realized that I had a very rare type of cancer that could be treated with surgery. So, I had surgery, and fortunately, I am completely fine.
I had never been so close to death before, and I hope, not to be again for some time to come. Having gone through all this, I can say with certainty that death is a useful but purely intellectual concept. No one wants to die. Even people who want to go to heaven do not want to die to get there.
Death is the place where we all go. Till date no one has survived it. And it must happen. Because the single greatest invention of life is death, it changes life. Finds a way to end the old. And at this point everyone is still new And in a few days you all will become old. And you will be clear from the path.
I apologize to all of you for being so dramatic. But this is truth. Your time is absolutely limited. So do not waste it by living someone else’s life . Do not get trapped in useless thoughts; do not run your life according to others. And do not suppress your inner voice with the noise of their thoughts. And most importantly, have the courage to listen to your heart and intuition. Because they already know what you want to be and the time. So first listen to your heart, everything else is secondary. And in the end I would like to say this to all of you.
STAY HUNGRY STAY FOOLISH!
I have always wished this for myself, and now that all of you are graduating from here, I wish the same for you. Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish. Hungry means you should have the desire to do something within you. And Stay Foolish because only by being Foolish. will you be able to learn something. If you think you already know Everything, you want be able to learn anything. So, Stay Hungry Stay Foolish.
